Lovely Japanese  Ai Kaiemon (Blue kakiemon) or  Arita porcelain plate in molded shape. Great style of painting. Very high quality. This superby painted ai-Kakiemon (blue Kakiemon) dish displays the finest Kakiemon features, the floriform rim moulded in ten pointed lobes edged in fuchi-beni iron-rim dressing. Painted in exceptionally fine and rich graduated underglaze cobalt blue tones. Ai Kakiemon or A fine example of late 17th century Arita production? Blue and white dishes of petalled brown-edged form circa 1700 recorded in the famous Duchess of Portland Collection. Sherds of this type and shape have been found at the Kakiemon kiln site. The best piece of this type we have ever owned.

Marked on the base with a Fuku mark. Fuku stands for luck, it is originally a chinese commendation mark.
