Porcelain with underglaze blue lake scene.
Visible is a figure in a boat who seems to be a fisherman but is also playing the flute.
Another figure is sitting in pagode which is in the middle of the lake.
Above the fisherman calligraphy is also painted;
The two columns appear to reproduce the closing lines of Cai Que’s Song dynasty poem On Climbing Chegai Pavilion in Summer (夏日登車蓋亭):
睡起莞然成獨笑，數聲漁笛在滄浪。
“Waking from sleep, I smile quietly to myself; a few notes from a fisherman’s flute sound across the waters.”
Ming dynasty, Tianqi or Chongzhen period (1621-1644)
