Sharing with you a nice and unusual set of two chinese porcelain plates dishes, early 17th century for the Japanese market. Ko Akae or Wucai.
Both with a line from rim, 1 dish with a star hairline in base and 1 dish with 2 chips. Size; 155x33mm DXH
Underglaze blue scene of an arhat or monk in sitting position. Overglaze enamels of clouds/ruyi and geometric design in the border, underglaze and overglaze.
Base with a 4 character mark in 2 concentric circles.
There are 2 hidded marks at the base, pressed. 1 of them is better visible then the other but they probably stand for “le guan” lett which means “happy light”. Probably a name

Reference;
We found the same dish in an old Japanese book with pictures of 17th century pieces, see pictures
