Condition Report: updated soon
A charming and unusual Chinese blue and white porcelain bottle vase, probably dating to the late Ming dynasty, 17th century.
Decorated with a lively galloping or flying horse amongst stylised clouds, possibly representing the celestial horse (Tianma), a symbol of strength, speed and success.
The elegant pear-shaped body rises to a slender neck with a flaring mouth. The decoration is freely painted in underglaze cobalt blue, displaying the spontaneous character of late Ming porcelain.
