Sharing with you this fantastic antique Chinese Ko-Sometsuke blue and white porcelain dish dating to the late Ming period, Tianqi / Chongzhen era, 17th century. Finely painted in underglaze cobalt blue with seven floral roundels to the center surrounded by a paneled floral border, all within a delicately lobed rim. The reverse decorated with radiating motifs and an apocryphal Chenghua mark to the base.
Beautifully potted with the spontaneous brushwork, soft glaze, and elegant asymmetry prized in Ko-Sometsuke wares made for the Japanese market and tea ceremony use. A highly decorative and collectible example of late Ming export porcelain with excellent display appeal.
