Condition Report: Perfect condition. Size: 19.6x3.5CM DiameterxHeight
A Chinese blue and white porcelain dish, Swatow (Zhangzhou) ware and dating to the late Ming period, circa the late 16th to early 17th century.
The centre is freely painted in underglaze blue with two roosters among flowering plants, leafy stems, stylised rockwork and to the left also sacred mushrooms. Their prominent combs, sweeping tail feathers and individually drawn plumage give the scene a lively character. Concentric blue lines frame the decoration, while the broad, undecorated rim provides a quiet contrast to the central composition.
The reverse is largely undecorated, with a blue line around the foot.
