Condition Report: Overall Condition A ( Very good) Rimfritting, 146mm.

Dating to the 17th century. Very nicely decorated kaiseki serving plate with a scene of a rustic fisherman standing on a river bank. A tall woven basket on his back to prevent his catch from escaping. The fisherman would have appealed to rich businessman enjoying a tea ceremony, suggesting the possibility of escaping from city life to the delights of a country existence and the companionship of natural ill-favoured peasants.
