Condition Report: 1 small nibble to the rim only. Size 13x11x2CM
Sharing with you this saucer dish or pattipan of lobed oval shape on a lobed footring. On the base some spur-marks. Decorated in underglaze blue with a European landscape with trees, houses and and boats. Round the rim a dark blue border with geometric design. The reverse is plain, on the base a six-character Chenghua mark.

This saucer dish or pattipan (a stand for a teapot or milk jug, or used as spoon tray) belongs to another category within the ‘Frijtom’ group. Dutch artist Frederik Van Frytom (1632 – 1702). Decorated in Delft style with a landscape. The shape and decoration imitate a Delftware model in the Prinsenhof Museum, Delft, painted in the Frijtom style and dated to 1684 (fig. 314a), as part of a set of five different saucers The motif of the horseman is also seen on other export ware (see cat. 315).
