Condition Report: Perfect. Size 177x28mm DXH
Sharing with you a very nice example of the mid Edo period Kraak revival pieces. Made in Arita late 17th c or early 18th. With sublime colours and painting. After the Kilns in Jingdezhen started operating again during the Kangxi period China steadily took market share from the Japanese porcelain industry. During the porcelain boom of the late 17th c Chinese potters and painters started working again with the shapes and style of the Ming and transitional period Kraak wares. Resulting in very finely potted Kangxi kraak wares. The Japanese than copied this again into their own style.
