Very happy with this new arrival.
Arita plate with a floral scene to get lost in. Circa 1700-1720, inspired by similar Kangxi period pieces. Marked at the base with an artemesia leaf. There is also a small sign visible on the back, close to the rim. Not sure what it stands for: a workshop mark? A fabrication mark? A quality mark? Something for the customer?
A nearly identical one has been given by Irene Finch to the V&A, and a larger dish (D. 29,7cm) is in Groningen, dated circa 1700, which is in line with the Kangxi-inspired decoration : https://grm-collections.adlibhosting.com/…/museum/18217
