Here we have a very classic Kangxi dish, dating to around 1700 during the Qing dynasty. The base is marked with a lingzhi fungus, a symbol often associated with longevity and good fortune.
This type of dish is very characteristic of the Kangxi period, with its lovely cobalt-blue decoration and confident, freely painted design. A beautiful example of the elegant blue-and-white porcelain produced during this era.
A similar example is in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, and is illustrated in Filip Suchomel, 300 Treasures: Chinese Porcelain in the Wallenstein, Schwarzenberg & Lichnowsky Family Collections (Prague: Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, 2015).
