Condition Report: 3 chips to 1 area of the rim and a firing flaw to rim. Size: 22.8x3CM DiameterxHeight
A fluted dish with scalloped rim, painted in underglaze blue and in blue, red, turquoise, pink and puce enamels and gilt. In the centre is a ring of flowering prunus branches in blue, red and gold within a wavy red border and in sixteen radiating panels are diaper and floral patterns in alternation, sprinkled with chrysanthemum medallions. On the back are sprays of flowers.
Mark: six-character Chinese reign mark of the Jiajing period (1522-66)
This pattern was copied at factories in England, see pictures also in the literature.
