Description
A Blue & White Ko-sometsuke plate with a Fisherman trying to catch a turtle. very unusual Ko-Sometsuke plate! Catching a Turttle which was well known to live for a very long time, has the suggestion of bestowing longevity on the users of this plate. The fishermans coars country face would have appealed to rich businessmen enjoying a tea ceremonie. Suggesting the possibility of escaping from city life to the deliughts of a country existence and the companionship of natural ill-favoured peasants.
