Condition Report: Overall Condition; Two lines, what seems to be a small chip and usual rimfritting, the lines and chip are beautifully kintsugi repaired. 161x26mm
Dish of circular form with with a shallow cavetto and everted rim, the center loosely painted with a scene of two scholars crossing a bridge away from a pavilion under a sheltering pine and towards a mountainous landscape, the border asymmetrical with six circular medallions, four-character mark in underglaze blue. The enamels which are overglaze are probably later added, either in Jingdezhen or Japan. We are still studying about this. If any visitor of this item can tell us more about that please do so. In the link below you will find an identical plate in it’s original underglaze blue form.
