islands suggest (to a Daoist-educated mind) the Daoist Paradise islands believed to lurk somewhere off
the eastern coast of China. The sun, cmerging from clouds, is a good omen-the first sunrise of the New
Year is always auspicious, so this set would have served well for the hatsu-gama
