Fabulous Japanese plate with the well know Thousand Faces scene.

The Meiji era is an era of Japanese history which extended from October 23, 1868 to July 30, 1912.

This beautiful “Thousand Face” design plate, circa 1890-1912, is from the late Meiji era. It contains many elements of design starting with a wise man reading a book/script in the center, then two bands with the thousand faces design.

With Japanese marking on the underside.
