Condition Report: The rim has rough edges, more like firing flaws (they are all glazed) and some minimal frits/fleebites/2 firing flaws. Size 203x40mm DxH
Tianqi or Chongzhen period, Ca 1610-1640. Kosometsuke ware. Chinese porcelain for the Japanese market.
The dish has rounded sides moulded with waved panels and lobed rims.
The dish is painted with central a crane bird in flight between clouds. Next to the crane four fans are painted. The cavetto of the dish is painted with a radiating motif of alternating sunflower, Peony flowers and bamboo, various geometric designs and plain blue and white panels, all below a zigzag border at the rim. The reverse is left white , the base has a 6 character Chenghua mark in a single circle.
