Kangxi Period Blue & White Tea Bowl and Saucer – Elegant Ladies Garden Scene – Marked
A charming and refined example of early Qing porcelain — this Kangxi period blue and white tea set is a marriage of two complementary pieces: a thinly potted tea bowl and a finely painted saucer. Despite being from different original sets, they harmonize beautifully in style and subject. Both pieces are decorated in vibrant underglaze cobalt blue, featuring serene garden scenes with elegant ladies (Liza figures). The dish further includes a young boy (often referred to as a “zotje”).
The tea bowl is exceptionally thinly potted, characteristic of high-quality Kangxi export porcelain. Both pieces bear underglaze blue marks on the base.
