Condition Report: 1 chip with 2 small hairlines from it. and 1 larger hairline from rim. Size: 43.5x9CM DiameterxHeight
A very nice blue and white dish, in the style of similar Ming period Late 17th century pieces.
Decorated in underglaze blue. Central scene of a flowers basket. The wall is divided into eight wide panels, separated by narrow striped panels. These narrow panels are filled at the top and bottom with underglaze blue, partly covered by dark blue scale work, with a hanging loop motif in the middle. Four of the wide panels are filled with a large flower, the others with a schematically drawn symbol, probably a flycatcher with a bottle or a flycatcher with a leaf.
