Imari large charger – “Cuckoo in the House” Scene.
A beautifully preserved Imari dish from the 18th century (first half in our opinion), featuring the iconic “Cuckoo in the House” landscape design.
“Cuckoo in the House” motif — a serene garden setting with architecture, foliage, and birds. The painting is skillfully executed in vibrant colors.
-
Period: 1st half 18th century, Yongzheng/Qianlong
-
Origin: China
-
Decoration: “Cuckoo in the House” scene in Imari palette.
The dish has a nice restoration with crams, which was usually done in the 19th century.
