Sharing with you this amazing Chinese porcelain dish from the Yongzheng / Qianlong period.
It is Chine de Commande porcelain with an encre de chine scene.
The plate is of moulded shape, with a curved rim and a low, rounded foot. A double circular opening is featured in the center of the plate, within which is landscape/village scene is depicted. The painting depicts three persons sitting leisurely in a field, leaning against a tree, while a man herds sheep nearby. In the distance, a fisherman walks along the riverbank, carrying a bamboo pole with a fish basket dangling from one end. A small boat passes by, and in the distance, a cluster of tall and short buildings stretch across the opposite bank.
The plate’s wall is decorated with a tortoiseshell diamond pattern and four oval-shaped openings with floral motifs are placed inside. The rim is adorned with a floral pattern of broken branches.
