A charming and generously sized 18th-century Dutch Delft blue and white plate, inspired by Chinese porcelain designs of the Kangxi period. The central scene features a beautifully stylized garden setting with flowering plants, a rock garden, and a gracefully draping willow tree. The border is richly decorated with deep cobalt blue floral motifs in panels, characteristic of Dutch interpretations of Asian export porcelain.
This piece exemplifies the cross-cultural aesthetic of the 18th century, when European potteries—especially in Delft—produced faience in direct emulation of imported Chinese wares.
