Sharing with you this very nicely decorated Chinese Porcelain Knagxi/Yongzheng Teapot. What you see is a Jingdezhen made porcelain verte teapot from around 1720-1730.

Teapot Porcelain decorated in translucent famille verte overglaze enamels Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period (1736-1795), 2nd quarter of 18th century

Height 119 mm; Lenght 157 mm

Spherical teapot with straight spout and rounded handle, with flattened bell shaped lid with everted rim and slightly pointed knob, The body is divided into four roughly elliptical medallions sepa- rated by strips decorated with a reticúla- ted scale pattern in iron red. The two side medallions are decorated with a large basket of flowers and two insects painted in translucent green, iron red, black, and gold overglaze; the smaller medallions where the spout and handle are attached are decorated very schematically with a river scene and a pagoda. A green band spotted in black and with flowers in gold iron red, pale yellow and aubergine, se- parates the body from the foot. The same enamels were used to paint the band with four reserves decorated with plant designs which separates the neck from the body A similar band decorates the rim of the lid, with the remainder divided into two panels each one partially reproducing the decoration of the body of the pot. Around the base of the gilded knop is a stylised lotus flower in green outlined in black The decorative pattern of this teapot was the one most commonly applied by the Dutch porcelain painters to pieces of por- celain in white exported from China to Europe. Christiaan Jörg shows a tea caddy and a milk jug with this decoration, at- tributing its manufacture and painting to the second quarter of the 18’h century.
