Condition Report: Overall Condition 1 line in base and 1 line to rim. Size 190mm high upper rim 245mm diameter
Nicely formed and heavily potted. Attentively hand painted with underglaze blue Qilins amonst clouds/ruyi all around.
Qilin
symbolizes benevolence, rectitude. A good omen. Symbol of Military Officials of the 1st Grade. In Chinese mythology, the qilin whose rare appearance often coincides with the imminent birth or death of a sage or illustrious ruler. (The name is a combination of the two characters qi “male,” and lin, “female.”)
