Condition Report: ware, firing flaws, some minimal frits and some crackle lines to body. Size: 9x8CM DiameterxHeight

An attractive Chinese blue and white porcelain jar, dating to the late Ming dynasty, circa 1600–1640.

The rounded body is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with alternating panels of freely painted flowering plants and narrow geometric diaper patterns. A band of pointed motifs encircles the short neck, while blue lines frame the decoration and foot.

The floral panels and patterned divisions create a lively design in the Kraak taste. The jar stands on a small, unglazed foot ring surrounding a glazed, unmarked base.
