Antique Late Ming 17th c Chinese Porcelain China Dish Scholar Literati
In stock
Condition Report: small frit to rim and some fritting to base rim. Small crackle lines in the dish also. Size: 16.5x3CM DiameterxHeight
Here we have an unusual type of late Ming dish. At first glance, it looks more like Dehua or Fujian ware than typical Jingdezhen porcelain.
A closely comparable example, bearing the same mark, is published in Arita Episode 2: China as an Inspiration for Japanese Porcelain, issued by Saga Prefecture and the Kyushu Ceramic Museum. The published piece is dated to the seventeenth century, making it an important reference for this unusual and rarely encountered type.
