A very nicely decorated Cup and saucer. Kangxi period Chinese porcelain dish and cup, with a stunning scene of a hunter and his dogs chasing a deer. Absolutely amazing.
This type of engraved wares are quite uncommon. Blue and white wares with brown glaze outside, known as Batavian wares after the port in Java which was the VOC headquarters in Asia, were the common type of Chinese porcelain more usually available to the glass engraver. These Glass engravers carved the engravings with a wheel in the brown outside through the brown glaze to the white body.
