MUSEUM PIECE 18C Kangxi Chinese Porcelain Kakiemon Bowl Birds Flowers
Out of stock
Condition Report: Overall Condition: 1 tiny nibble to the brown rim. Size 107x62mm
A Japanese Kakiemon-style bird-and-flower painting has been used here by a Dutch painter to decorate a Chinese porcelain bowl. The grouping of a pair of magpies, plum blossoms, and bamboo is a traditional Chinese image, which forms the rebus “the couple delights in double happiness” (zhumei shuangxi).
The scene and quality of paintting is amazing.
