Condition Report: 2 frits/small chips to rim and some fritting to base rim. Size 223mmx20mm DiameterxHeight
A beautiful antique Kangxi (1662-1722) dish with upturned rim decorated in the centre with a brightly-coloured scene of a bird flying above peonys and other flowers in overglaze enamels and gilding. The rim is decorated with a wide diaper band with reserved panels of butterfiles. The outer rim has 4 compartments with butterflies and geometric design with flowers. The base with two concentric circles and flowers/geometric design. The decoration is vibrant and attractive.
Similar pieces can be found in Groningen Museum, Netherland in “Famille Verte- Chinese Porcelain in Green Enamels” by Christian Jorge Pg 69.
Condition: excellent overall, 2 small frits/chips to rim and some fritting to base rim. Measurement: 223mmx20mm.
