A Chinese blue-and-white porcelain dish from the Kangxi period, decorated with a flowering garden of peonies and prunus growing among ornamental scholar’s rocks and bamboo. The surrounding border contains floral sprays and ribboned auspicious objects, framed by a dense scrolling band around the rim.
The peony traditionally represents wealth and honour, while bamboo symbolises resilience and longevity.
