Condition Report: 2 small hairlines to the rim. Size: 8CM high
A charming miniature Chinese porcelain vase from the Kangxi period, finely painted in underglaze cobalt blue. The elegant baluster-shaped body is decorated with freely painted grapevines, bearing clusters of fruit among curling tendrils and broad leaves. The lively, spontaneous brushwork and softly varying shades of cobalt are characteristic of Kangxi blue-and-white porcelain.
Grapes traditionally symbolise abundance, fertility and the continuation of the family line.
