An attractive 18th-century Dutch Delftware plate, hand-painted in deep cobalt blue on a creamy white tin glaze. The decoration consists of a central stylised flower surrounded by radiating panels filled with blossoms, leafy scrolls and geometric details. The bold, freely painted design reflects the influence of Chinese blue-and-white porcelain on Dutch Delft pottery.
The reverse is covered with a pale tin glaze and bears an old handwritten price or collection label. A charming and highly decorative example of 18th-century Dutch Delftware.
