Ca 1700-1720 Gold Imari Arita Japanese birds Edo Period Porcelain Bowl and plate
Condition Report: TO be updated
‘Gold’ Imari, decorated in gold, iron-red, black birds and flowering plants and insects. On the handle flowers, on the cover flowers as well.
This is a beautiful example of ‘gold’ Imari. No underglaze blue or other enamel colors have been used, and the thin rosy layer of gold provides sufficient contrast to the brighter red and gold.
